- After complete clearance, follow opaque stones for 2 years and lucent stones for 3 years for 80 % safety margin
- Follow for 5 years for 90 % safety margin
- Residual fragments < 4 mm or dust:
- Intervention and progression is about 10 – 30 %
- Spontaneous passage 21 – 34 %
- Recommend surveillance for 4 years
- Residual fragments > 4 mm
- Intervention rates high 24 – 100 % on surveillance
- Recommend repeat procedure
- More extensive follow up for high risk or those with known metabolic abnormalities
